Philosophy

What are the values that underpin Bunyarra's operations. The centre has a philosophy statement that helps inform how we go about our business. The following is from the philosophy document. Click here to see the core values and principles document.

Bunyarra Children’s Centre works in partnership with families to provide quality care for children in an inclusive, nurturing environment. Bunyarra provides a service which is flexible and responsive to the changing and diverse childcare needs of the community.

The centre uses the National Early Years Learning Framework – ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’ as a foundation for ensuring the children in our setting experience quality teaching and learning. The program reflects the children’s right to play as both a process and a context for learning. Care is provided in a stimulating, flexible, environment, nurturing security, trust and acceptance of self and others. It promotes the overall physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual development of children. The centre endeavours to empower children by using their thoughts, ideas and interests to develop the program.

At Bunyarra we aim to set the foundations for life long learning and wellbeing, enabling children to flourish in these critical formative years.  We work collaboratively with children and families to acknowledge social and environmental issues, globally and within our community.

Parents, centre staff and the Management Committee all contribute to maintain the framework for the philosophy of care at Bunyarra. All members continually work towards achieving excellence in the field of childcare and early childhood learning.
